Care Instructions

If you own a floor or a historical wooden floor, you enter into a kind of partnership with this floor. The proper care of your floor is the easiest way to preserve its beauty, patina, and value. The floor will thank you with durability and joy in the natural wood product.

Regular Maintenance Care: Typically, vacuuming the parquet surfaces with a suction brush is sufficient. If there are still dirt residues or stains, these can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth, as described below. If the floor appears dull or worn, simply treat it with a commercially available parquet wax or the recommended care products from Woodwellness.

Important:
Please never mop with excessive moisture and avoid intense water penetration! This could cause the solid wood parquet to swell or cup.

Mopping Care for Intensive Dirt: As a choice, we recommend using pH-neutral warm or lukewarm water with soap flakes. Apply in a slightly damp manner. Please note: Never mop with excessive moisture.
To enhance the cleaning effect, you can add a small amount of neutral cleaner. Then, wipe the floor with a damp cloth or a commercial mop, ensuring the floor is almost dry, and let it dry afterward.

Here are two tips for better protection of your wooden floor:

  1. Use doormats if the parquet is in the entrance area or room. This absorbs about 70% of the dirt entering.

  2. Important for protection against scratches and dents: Place coasters or soft protection under the legs of chairs or tables.
Floors are made of living material and respond directly to the room climate. Low air humidity in your rooms causes the moisture content of solid wood floors to drop. This release continues until the moisture content of the air and furniture is balanced. As a result, the wood shrinks in volume, forming cracks, joints, and gaps.
However, by maintaining a comfortable and healthy room climate of around 20°C and 50% relative humidity, you can largely avoid the negative effects of these natural occurrences.
Color inclusions and differences are a characteristic of the natural material and do not constitute a defect.
